Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights

Every woman has the right to make informed decisions about her body, her health, and her family. LEWAF ensures those rights are known and respected.

Our Approach

Sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) are fundamental to women's wellbeing and autonomy. In many Sierra Leonean communities, limited access to information, social stigma, and power imbalances prevent women from exercising these rights. LEWAF's SRHR program addresses these barriers head-on through education, advocacy, and sensitization.

Community Education

Regular sessions educating women, men, and young people on reproductive health, family planning, maternal health, and the prevention of sexually transmitted infections.

Rights Advocacy

Advocating at community and policy levels for women's rights to reproductive healthcare, informed consent, and freedom from forced or child marriage.

Family Health Sensitization

Working with families and couples to promote open, respectful communication about reproductive health and shared responsibility for family wellbeing.

Youth and Adolescent Programs

Age-appropriate reproductive health education in schools and youth groups, addressing adolescent girls' unique vulnerabilities.

The Right to Health is a Human Right

LEWAF's SRHR work is grounded in the principle that access to reproductive health information and services is a fundamental human right — not a privilege. We work to make that right a reality for women in Sierra Leone's most underserved communities.
